Sunway Medical Centre sits in the township of Sunway, which was once a mining wasteland in Petaling Jaya. As part of the expansion of their healthcare division, the Client’s brief called for an upgrade to its existing Sunway Medical Centre and at the same time, the planning and proposal to build six new hospitals in West Malaysia.

Sunway Medical Centre 3

The first of this is Sunway Medical Centre 3, also known as the Cancer Centre, is a new extension of the existing hospital that offers a wide range of new and cutting-edge technology and equipment in non-invasive cancer treatments, particularly in Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine fields. The concept and proposal for the hospital focuses on the humanistic and optimistic qualities of design while at the same time, compliments the purpose and function of the building to the local community and its surrounding.

With 245 beds, 58 consultation suites, a new covered car park with over 700 parking space and new facilities for Dialysis, Endoscopy and Nursery, Sunway Medical Centre 3 complements the existing hospital by expanding its reach in providing quality medical service to the public. As part of the integrated Bandar Sunway development and with its connectivity with Sunway BRT Line, Sunway Medical Centre aims to become the hub for cancer treatment in the Klang Valley.
