This strategic positioning aims to make Sunway Square the cultural and functional heart of SCKL, promoting community interaction and engagement via Bus Rapid Transit system, facilitating direct access to downtown Kuala Lumpur and a series of solar-powered pedestrian walkways, enhances accessibility to surrounding neighborhoods, reducing reliance on cars and promoting SCKL as Malaysia’s 15-Minute City.

Architecturally, Sunway Square honors its industrial past with two Grade A office towers and a podium housing a retail mall and an university annex. The design merges natural ruggedness with contemporary sustainability design features i.e. triple-volumetric grand lobby with advanced security system, full height double glazing curtain wall, sun shading device, high ceiling with dramatic panoramic view, long span column free open plan and common facilities like modern gym, meeting rooms, co-working spaces, amphitheater and outdoor garden that enhance its functionality and collaboration.

The new mall addresses the shift towards online shopping, creating an engaging retail environment with dramatic skylight atriums and direct access to the scenic Boardwalk by the 28-acre South Quay lake. Additionally, the development includes a 12-storey university extension linked by air-conditioned elevated bridge, a 1,200-seat Performance Arts Centre, and a 24-hour library, catering to the needs of students and the neighboring community.
